Winter is Coming 2017
There was some snow on the ground, a fine layer that stuck good to the surface. Sleepy eyes peered out the window of a small townhouse in St. John where dreams and schemes linger little heads in grandmothers house. There was fog thick and cold a few days before the snow fall that covered the streets and trees for miles. Indoors coffee was bland and the news drowned out the harmony that the morning brings to a rested and blissful nights sleep.
Weeks were going by and Christmas was heading closer you could feel it drift its way in and out of mind as traffic piled up for stretches into the large parking lots of stores. The ongoing crowds brought gifts and groceries into homes of many Hoosiers from as far as the north is to the south, east is to the west. Snow flurries found their way into The Region quickly dancing around in the windy parts of St. John, IN.
Days are flying by and there isn't one gift that doesn't ring love and cheer. The holy spirit is near, and as everything comes and goes, hard work and play keep us on our toes. The sun shines into the townhouse some days and is gray and dark inside on other days from the north side windows where blue and green lights dangle and gleam through the cool and warm nights that welcome winter on its way. All the leaves have fallen from all the trees and the last leaf has been raked up week ago, yet the dead and empty outdoor colors and wilderness still have a lively glow of stillness and transparency.
Bonfires wild sparks red and yellow burn up into the air that flutter into the sky. The threshold of power pulls us in the hour from all our pride on the 25th of December the day a "Baby is Born".
Luke 2:1-7. Jesus what a wonderful time of the year where all traditions, beliefs, and values of family and friends come together peacefully in unity and no fear.
